Youth Civics and Leadership Program
The U.S. Senator Paul Simon Youth Civics and Leadership Program will assist local schools, both public and private, in the education of elementary and secondary school students in the areas of local, state and federal government. We will offer education classroom instruction and programming which meets the curriculum requirement set-forth by The Illinois Department of Education. We will evoke the principles and values of The Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution; while seek to engage student in thoughtful and stimulating conversations and activities related to the basic fundamentals of citizenship.
Advisory Board: Kevin Wendel - Triad Middle School Teacher and Chair of Heroes in the Hall and Dr. Karl Maple - Political Science Professor Emeritus and Congressional Staff Member
